November 22 blog post (test grade)

BARACK OBAMA
Since obamas election there has been many issues.. However many people do not like the affect of him being our next president due to the fact that he is an african american, i do not see any problem with his color because thats not what is important to me. When we had a white president, the black people did not make a big deal out of it and they did not say harsh things about the white president.
Now that our president is black high schoolers are making comments about him on the web, spraying racial graffiti on buildings, tunnels, and everything they can just to say something harsh and un-called for.
Most election-related threats have so far been little more than juvenile pranks. But the political marginalization of certain Southern whites, economic distress in rural areas, and a White House occupant who symbolizes a multiethnic United States could combine to produce a backlash against what some have heralded as the dawn of a postracial America. In some parts of the South, there's even talk of secession.
My opinion is very simple.. if we could judge a book by its cover and know what would happen with each president then we would not be going through hell in the world right now. White presidents have put us this far, so lets see what the black guy can do for us. The young people can not really say something and make an effect in the world til they are old enough to do so, so i think they should all just be patient and see what happens! (my opinion)

SALEM

this reading passage was either the crasiest or freakiest thing i have ever read before. But i think it was both! some parts were funny like the part where the girl takes off running as if shes a bird and makes a crazy squaking sound that no one had read before. A crazy pert is where she watches the girl grab the chain and wrap it around another girls neck, as the girl said i could kill you tonight if i wanted to! That part was really freaky and kind of scared me because i was not expecting it to go to such great detail in that short amount of time. it taught me that people who believe in whitch craft really are freaks but you shouldn't judge them unless you want something horrible done to you. lol The whole thing of this reading was to persuade other to i guess not make fun of people who are different from you. but also there is things out there that many people sometimes don't believe but others may believe in it. never judge what people do, say, or act.

Being in a group with others who i can talk with and get answers for parts i don't understand has really helped me develope with wanting to read.
I love that i now know how to show a specific event instead of just telling about it, however, i need to focus more on main events and details of a event or story.
I still have trouble talking in a group because of issues i've had in the past, but this year is really helping me with my problem.
I expect to learn MORE new things next semester.

our lit circle

I think our literature circle went very good. We talked about specific events in the book including the part about the jail and going out on survival. I don't really like this book though because it goes back and forth like flashbacks. I think we did good in our literature circle but i have not got far in this book because i don't like it.

TEXT TO SELF CONNECTION

Shot! as she said yes to believing in god, cassie bernall was just getting away from drugs and trouble, she moved to a new school and just as things started getting better two boys came into the school and killed many peopl. This book is very sad and tragic, i think anyone would like to read this book.
In the book She Said Yes by Misty Bernall, Brad (Cassies dad) learns how people can often get dissapointed. Misty (Cassies mom) says "I am frusterated by how quickly Brad has come to terms with all that has happened to us and i get angry at him."
I understan how Misty feels because i am angry with my step dad for the pain he has put me through. He got over my moms death like two weeks after she was gone. It may have been longer than that but it did not seem like that long.
The connection between me and the book is that often people get angry with how people come to terms with deaths in the family. My mom passed away and my step father moved on very quickly. Misty's daughter got killed and Brad moved on quickly as well.
